In the course of this plenary week, it is extremely necessary to pass the decisions regarding the conduction of the parliamentary hearings on the issues of secondary and higher education and reforms of the legislation on local elections. It was declared by Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Monday after the Conciliate council.

 

M. Tomenko emphasised that the Parliament is obliged to pass the decisions regarding the implementation of the hearings to discuss these issues as they demand common elaboration by legislative specialists with the representatives of the local self-government and specialists in educational sphere.

 

M. Tomenko is content by the fact that in the result of his initiative, starting from the next Friday, the Parliament will starting working as it is envisaged by the Standing Orders, in the regime of "an hour of questions to the government" and announced that on Friday in particular, the Parliamentarians would hear the information of Yu. Boiko, the Minister on Fuel and Energy regarding Ukrainian and Russian gas negotiations.

 

M. Tomenko also expressed hope that the Government would submit before 11 April the Program on the Activity of the Government as it envisaged by the effective legislation.
